Midea Group, China's famous white goods manufacturer, will march into the electronic oven industry and the first array of nearly 30 models of products will come into the market in few days.

Midea aims to become the number one in the domestic market by sales of electronic ovens as of 2008 and the first brand in the homegrown industry in 2010 and in the world in the near future, says the general manager of the domestic marketing company of the Midea Microwave Oven Division.

The market size of the electronic oven industry is small, the brand concentration ratio remains low and its consumer group is small, too, but it is growing fast, concluding some insiders.

The sales of the electronic oven market surged 41.27% year on year in the first half of 2007, the statistics from CMM show.

The famous brands will spur the electronic oven industry, leave pressure on current brands and promote the rapid development of the industry, according to a researcher at the Development Research Center of the State Council.
